Ever since Quarantine began, a lot of people were determined to find different activities to do to make it through their days at home. Does that mean making changes to our usual lifestyle? Or perhaps being able to practice something we love even more often?
“I spend my days training, watching series on Netflix, and gaming on my Xbox. If I still have some energy left afterwards, I study. I used to run outside, but because of the latest decisions, I can’t do that anymore. What I can do now is workout at home. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body, and since I’m a professional athlete, I find ways to keep both mind and body in good shape.” – Nicolas Awwad, 20.
“I am trying to focus on the positive numbers; the numbers of people getting better and recovering every day. I also began working out, and it’s pretty nice actually. I’ve lost some weight ever since I began, and I find it a lot easier to exercise now.” – Jinan Ali Hussein, 20.
“I just thought I had two options during this rough patch: either I mope around all day, weaken my immune system, and just be unproductive all the time, or I could start doing what I’ve always wanted to do but repeatedly postponed because of school. Now that I don’t have school, I can’t make any more excuses. I decided to start exercising now, and once our lives go back to normal, I’ll head to the gym – I’d already have a head start.” – Rita Maria Fares, 18.
“We’re all safe, thankfully. Not leaving the house at all – we bought flour and we’re baking our own bread. We also bought a lot of powdered milk, and this way, we’re satisfying all our needs in dairy products. Doing everything to avoid having even 1% exposure to the outside world. Here we are, two weeks at home, and I believe we’ve done a pretty good job so far.” – Charbel Saade, 20.
“I’m usually the kind of man who likes to stay at home, so things haven’t really changed for me. That doesn’t mean I don’t like to go places, but generally speaking I like staying home. I have a Netflix “To-watch” list – when the Internet’s good, I watch. I’m also installing a gaming PC, should be done with that soon. I discovered that I had already bough the books I wanted to buy, so I’m reading them either during the afternoon or at night. I also have a big garden in front of the house – when the weather’s clear, I do some gardening or take a walk outside. Basically the things I regularly do.” – Charbel Gemayel.
Stay home, stay safe. x
